What They Wore ... Primetime Emmy Awards 2012

It might be rainy here in the UK (when will it stop?!) but the stars brightened up the red carpet at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in LA last night.  Yellow was a popular trend with numerous celebrities wearing canary brights.

Julianne Moore wore a striking yellow gown from Raf Simons debut A/W' 12 couture collection for Dior. The dress was one of my favourite pieces on the couture catwalk but I'm undecided if it just looked too severe for the red carpet?! Julianne took home the Emmy for Best Lead Actress In A Mini Series for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in 'Game Change.'  'New Girl' star Hannah Simone chose a more muted pastel yellow with a pretty one strap Pucci gown. Claire Danes shone in a bright yellow simple cut Lanvin gown which skimmed over her baby bump. She picked up the Best Actress award for 'Homeland.'

Zac Posen is one of my favourite red carpet designers. January Jones was one of my best dressed of the night in a gothic style gown from their Resort 2013 collection. I love the shape and detail on the dress. Swept back hair and smoky eyes complimented her darker look. 'Veep' star Anna Chlumsky also looked glamorous in black in a custom made Christian Siriano lace gown with a cinched in waist belt.

Ginnifer Goodwin was another of my style favourites in an orange floral embroidered Monique Lhuillier gown. Her signature pixie crop and orange Louboutins completed her winning red carpet look. Hayden Panettiere showcased Marchesa's Spring/Summer 2013 Bollywood inspired collection. The gown featured navy tulle wrapped over gold. She wore her hair up in a bun to show off the gold embellishment at the back of the dress.

In a change from her usual kooky hipster look Zooey Deschanel went for a Cinderella style custom made Reem Arca powder blue gown with a sweetheart neckline and layers of tulle creating a full skirt. She saved her quirky style for her nail art, sporting little glittering televisions that she tweeted about before the ceremony. 'Revenge' star Emily VanCamp also opted for a fairy tale gown in a flowing soft silver J Mendel dress with sheer cut outs. She accessorised with a cute diamond bow bracelet.

Who was your best dressed at the Emmy's?
Does Julianne's Dior gown get the thumbs up or thumbs down from you?

  2. How stunning are those yellow dresses?! I own one yellow dress, which has been worn twice as it requires a tan and I so rarely have one... :(
