Autumn/Winter Supermarket Style

When I'm doing the food shopping I'm terrible for getting distracted by the clothes section and before I know it I'm heading to the changing rooms with a pile of things to try on! I can't see this changing anytime soon with the gorgeous autumn/winter supermarket collections full of on trend pieces and designer inspired style.

Sainsbury's

Hacking Blazer - £30.00
Black Sheer Dress with Sequin Collar - £30.00
Nude Polka Dot Peter Pan Blouse - £16.00
Gold Tweed Foil Dress - £40.00
Brown Riding Boots - £30.00

I love the heritage inspired hacking blazer from Sainsburys new collection. It'd look great worn with your favourite jeans and it's smart enough for the office too. I really need to stop buying blazers but at just £30.00 this one is going to be hard to resist! I need some new boots for winter (.. this was confirmed yesterday when I arrived home from work with wet feet that looked like I'd been in the bath for a few hours too long!) and these brown riding boots look ideal. Their new season collection also contains gorgeous dresses perfect for the glamour of party season!

Tesco

Print Trousers - £18.00
Black and Gold Slipper Shoes - £14.00
Peplum Dress - £30.00
Tote Bag - £10.00
Gold Brocade Jumper - £18.00

Tesco have also created a stand out line for the season full of darker tones and luxurious gold's. I love the printed cigarette pants which would look great styled with a simple white shirt and heels. The black jumper with gold gilded detailing reminds me of the gold baroque seen in Dolce & Gabbana's A/W '12 collection on the runways in Milan earlier this year. It's perfect for trying out the trend at a fraction of the price!

Asda

Patterned Shift Dress - £16.00
Knot Ballet Pumps - £12.00
Navy Waxed Jacket - £30.00
Houndstooth Dress - £16.00
PU Pencil Skirt - £14.00

George at Asda have designed a fashionable and functional collection to see you through the colder climes. Whilst I save up for a Barbour jacket this navy waxed jacket from would make a great substitute. I love the retro pattern on this cute shift dress. It's reminiscent of the colourful mosaic style patterns in Prada's A/W '12 collection.

So there you have it.. designer inspired style at a fraction of the price that you can pick up whilst doing your weekly shop!

Where will you be shopping this season?

What They Wore ... Primetime Emmy Awards 2012

It might be rainy here in the UK (when will it stop?!) but the stars brightened up the red carpet at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in LA last night.  Yellow was a popular trend with numerous celebrities wearing canary brights.

Julianne Moore wore a striking yellow gown from Raf Simons debut A/W' 12 couture collection for Dior. The dress was one of my favourite pieces on the couture catwalk but I'm undecided if it just looked too severe for the red carpet?! Julianne took home the Emmy for Best Lead Actress In A Mini Series for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in 'Game Change.'  'New Girl' star Hannah Simone chose a more muted pastel yellow with a pretty one strap Pucci gown. Claire Danes shone in a bright yellow simple cut Lanvin gown which skimmed over her baby bump. She picked up the Best Actress award for 'Homeland.'

Zac Posen is one of my favourite red carpet designers. January Jones was one of my best dressed of the night in a gothic style gown from their Resort 2013 collection. I love the shape and detail on the dress. Swept back hair and smoky eyes complimented her darker look. 'Veep' star Anna Chlumsky also looked glamorous in black in a custom made Christian Siriano lace gown with a cinched in waist belt.

Ginnifer Goodwin was another of my style favourites in an orange floral embroidered Monique Lhuillier gown. Her signature pixie crop and orange Louboutins completed her winning red carpet look. Hayden Panettiere showcased Marchesa's Spring/Summer 2013 Bollywood inspired collection. The gown featured navy tulle wrapped over gold. She wore her hair up in a bun to show off the gold embellishment at the back of the dress.

In a change from her usual kooky hipster look Zooey Deschanel went for a Cinderella style custom made Reem Arca powder blue gown with a sweetheart neckline and layers of tulle creating a full skirt. She saved her quirky style for her nail art, sporting little glittering televisions that she tweeted about before the ceremony. 'Revenge' star Emily VanCamp also opted for a fairy tale gown in a flowing soft silver J Mendel dress with sheer cut outs. She accessorised with a cute diamond bow bracelet.

Who was your best dressed at the Emmy's?
Does Julianne's Dior gown get the thumbs up or thumbs down from you?

Harrods Wish List: The Handbags & Purses Edition

Whenever I visit Harrods I head straight for the handbags and accessories to lust over my favourite styles and see the new designs! If I was to win the lottery one of the first things I'd do is treat myself to a designer handbag.. or three!  I've always been handbag obsessed, you just need to open my overflowing wardrobe to see this!.. but lately rather than continuing to buy more and more bags I want to start saving a little each month then I'll finally be able to invest in one of my dream handbags!

Here's a wish list of some of my favourite designs that I'd love to own one day!

My dream bag would have to be a Mulberry! I love the classic shape and turn lock detail of the Bayswater. I'm also a fan of the recent Del Rey collection inspired by one of my favourite style icons, Lana Del Rey. Lulu Guinness's range of Lips clutches make the perfect addition to your outfit for a night out. I adore this studded Lips clutch which is perfect for the autumn/winter season! I love the relaxed style of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Hobo Bag. I usually favour big handbags and this travel tote by Michael Kors is a practical yet stylish solution for holding all your daily essentials.

And of course a girl needs a fabulous purse to go with the bag! ...

I love the classic design of the Mulberry continental wallet, it'll make a perfect match for when I finally get my Bayswater! I adore the glossy patent cherry red tone of this Vivienne Westwood purse in printed crocodile leather. I also love the simple yet chic design of this Marc by Marc Jacobs slim zip wallet in classic tan. This McQueen card holder has a signature crystal skull and has to be the most stylish way I've seen to protect your plastic! This DKNY purse in soft leather has a classic lock clasp detail adding that luxurious look at a more affordable price.

What's your dream handbag?

Temperley Somerset

I was really excited to learn when it was announced over the summer that one of my favourite designers, Alice Temperley was set to launch a collaboration for the high street with John Lewis. Designer style at high street prices.. win win you might say!

The collection, launched yesterday, is named after Alice's home county and celebrates ten years of the renowned brand. Her signature boho style is reflected throughout with soft feminine tailoring, lace embellishments and ruffles.

The collection has a military vibe, a popular trend as seen on the A/W catwalk at London Fashion Week earlier this year, with gold button detailing and buckled boots. There's also a range of accessories including handbags, purses, belts and scarves.

It's easy to see why the ever stylish Kate Middleton and Florence Welch are loyal fans of her work!

The 60 piece capsule collection is available now at selected John Lewis stores and online with prices starting at £29.00 for a Cornish striped scarf and £99.00 for a jersey dress

These are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection

I adore the ruffled lantern style sleeves on the spot dress, it'd make the perfect LBD! The sequin jumper is available in silver, gold and black. Its longline shape makes it ideal for layering this season. The rich colours in the animal print scarf are great for adding a splash of colour to your winter wardrobe and at just £49.00 I can sense it making an appearance in mine soon!

A second phase focusing on partywear is set for release in October, it's sure to be perfect for Christmas parties!

Are you a Temperley fan?
