Emotional Brilliance at Lush

Last weekend I visited Lush to check out their newly launched debut make up range 'Emotional Brilliance'. I'd read the press releases about the new line but was keen to see for myself how the concept of selecting colours worked.

One of the Lush staff offered to give me a personalised colour reading, you simply spin the wheel and then choose the three colours that stand out to you the most which are meant to reflect your state of mind. I selected Focus a bright silver eyeshadow, Feeling Secure a vivid purple eyeliner, and Bubbly a pearly pink lip colour.

There's 30 colours in the range all priced at £14.50. My favourite shade is Perspective a subtle pink lip colour that's perfect for everyday wear and would look great as a cheek tint too! All the colours I sampled were highly pigmented and blended easily. Numerous shades in the collection have dual purposes and can be used on the eyes, lips or cheeks depending on the look you're creating. Many of the products contain jojoba and almond oil alongside cupuacu butter as a base providing soft and nourishing properties for the skin.

Lush have also launched Eyes Right mascara, which claims to be suitable for the most sensitive of eyes containing only 1 preservative, Emotional Brilliance, a light-reflecting face powder to give a shine free finish, Charisma, a bronzing skin tint to give you a glow and Feeling Younger, a skin tint containing a magic orange pigment which works as a reflector leaving your skin looking brighter and youthful.

In keeping with Lush's environmentally friendly policy their entire make up range is suitable for vegans.

Have you tried Lush's new make up collection yet?
What's your favourite shade?

  1. I have yet to actually go to a Lush, there are couple here in New York City and I've passed by them a few times but I never had the urge to go in. Now I know I should ahaha

  2. Oooh you lucky thing getting invited to this! The only word to describe Lush really is well...LUSH! Everytime I go in there it pains to me to realise none of the stuff is actually edible! That colour patellate looks amazing and Eyes Right mascara is something I need because my skin is so sensitive! I shall have to check it out.

  3. I'm not sure how I feel about this collection yet. The colours look gorgeous but I'm not really keen on the packaging or the price tag. I think the only thing I'd be willing to spend £14.50 from this collection is the Feeling Young skin tint :) xx

  4. I have to admit that, whilst the range is pricy (and these days I stick to browny colours), I love the bright colours in this range!! It's be interesting to read review on this, even though it is refreshing to read that all their stuff is vegan.

And to think I nor, ally give lush a wide birth!!!

Thanks for the comment on my blog!

  5. I'm very excited about the new makeup collection, even though I haven't had much luck with their soaps and stuff. I am definitely willing to give them another chance. I mean, cmon, their lippie packaging is adorable!

  9. I've never tried Lush products so I don't know if I'll be trying their make up. Spinning the wheel sounded fun though! xxx

  10. I'm not the hugest fan of Lush, just because I find the powdery fragrance a little distracting but...a lot of my friends are fans. I also used to really like their sister brand which sold make up (but they have since stopped trading) so maybe I should give their new make up range a go too!
