The Grammy Awards in LA played host to some of music's biggest stars on Sunday night. There was a mixture of black dresses alongside couture gowns on the red carpet.
Adele made her highly anticipated comeback in a sequined black Giorgio Armani gown. Her red lips complimented her new lighter blonde hair. She swept the boards on the night taking home 6 Grammys winning every category she was nominated in, including Album Of The Year for '21' and Song Of The Year for 'Rolling In The Deep.'
Alicia Keys wore one on my favourite outfits on the night. Her structured dress featured padded shoulders and was from Alexandre Vauthier's recent couture collection. I loved her statement gold necklace, it transformed the outfit from being a plain LBD. She teamed the dress with black and perspex ankle strap Louboutins.
Rihanna showed off her figure in this daring custom made gown she designed herself alongside Giorgio Armani. This follows her recent collaboration with Armani for a capsule line for his collection. The gown had a plunging neckline, thigh high split and a low back true to Rihanna's revealing style. She accessorised with a gold arm cuff and gold clutch and wore the same Louboutin stilettos as Alicia Keys.
Gwyneth Paltrow also wore a black cut out backless dress. Her gown was designed by Stella McCartney. I loved the gold belt detail on the dress. Her hair was slicked back and styled in a sleek ponytail. Though Rihanna looked stunning, Gwynie's sophisticated style wins it for me in the battle of their dresses!
Katy Perry was my best dressed at the awards. She appeared in a gorgeous pastel blue Elie Saab couture gown hot off the runway at Paris last month. The floral embellished gown was a step away from Katy's usual quirky style, but I think she stole the show. The dress matched her newly blue hair.
Taylor Swift also wore couture. She chose this beautiful nude embellished Zuhair Murad gown. She kept her make up simple and wore her hair in a high bun so the focus remained on the detailed dress. She won 2 Grammy awards for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for 'Mean'.
Jessie J shone in this metallic mirrored Julien Macdonald fishtail dress. She carried a black Lulu Guinness lips clutch. Her hair was styled in a high ponytail with a heavy blunt fringe.
Country star Carrie Underwood dazzled in a white Gomez Garcia gown covered in silver sequins. The dress featured a cut out back which was a clear red carpet trend on the night. She accessorised with a contrasting black crystal clutch.
