Life In Couture

With so many gorgeous couture collections on show in Paris last week I felt I had to share a few of my personal favourites!
I love seeing the beautiful couture creations on the catwalk, the designers can let their imaginations run wild as they create their own unique fantasy couture collection.

Elie Saab

Elie Saab is one of my favourite designers with his stunning dresses becoming a popular choice for Hollywood stars on the red carpet. His haute couture collection featured gorgeous gowns in this summers popular pastel colours. His designs incorporated lots of lace and sparkling embellishments. One of his beautiful gowns would definitely be my dream dress!

Zuhair Murad

Zuhair Murad's 'Casino Fever' showcased figure hugging gowns in rich gold tones and sparkling jewelled encrusted dresses. He used sheer flowing fabrics and lace embellishments to create this glamorous couture collection.

Valentino

Valentino's couture collection had a soft and romantic vibe. The feminine designs were reminiscent of decades past with a mixture of floral prints and ruffles. The collection featured sheer chiffon fabrics mixed with lace. Alongside the gowns I liked the white tailored trousers paired with the crystal encrusted top.

Jean Paul Gaultier

Jean Paul Gaultier showcased a controversial tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse. Personally I loved it and thought it worked well, I'm a big fan of Amy's music and enjoyed seeing her unique style captured on the catwalk. The models sported beehive hair and her signature flicked black eyeliner. The collection featured a mixture of designs with a rock chick edge thrown in. Amy's style could be clearly seen in the belted back to front polo shirt dress.

Alexandre Vauthier

I loved the couture designs from Alexandre Vauthier. The chic black tailored dresses looked stunning and reflected the sleek feel of the collection. He showcased flowing feathered gowns, sheer draped creations and paired skin tight trousers with sequin encrusted tops, all styled with heavy golden chokers.

Who was your favourite on the couture catwalk?
What would be your dream dress?

  1. Elie Sabbs collection was my favourite because it was very girly, lovely colours and I could imagine myself actually wearing the dresses.
My dream dress would be very similar to the purple elie sabb dress but I would love it a nude pink.

    Lovely post x x

  8. The Zuhair Murad collection is my favorite! Those dresses are totally hot! The way they hug the models' curves is perfect. But they're really elegant too! My favorite is the gown with the high-low hem. It's ridiculously pretty. I wish I could wear it to prom, but alas, I'm not an heiress.
