I love finding a bargain in the sales but this year I've been questioning when and where will I actually wear it? Many a time I've grabbed an item of clothing thinking what a bargain only for it to hang in the back of my wardrobe with the tags on months down the line!
By following these tips you can still find lots of bargains that will be worthy investments to your wardrobe...
When looking for dresses in the sales it's best to stick to classic shapes that flatter your figure rather than opting for a current trend that you may not wear this time next year. Choose colours you know will suit you. Now is a great time to pick up a dress for a summer wedding at half the price!
Teal Crystal Dress - Miss Selfridge Was £75.00 Now £30.00
Blue Skater Dress - Warehouse Was £45.00 Now £15.00
Black Bow Satin Dress - Oasis Was £75.00 Now £15.00
Green Balloon Sleeve Dress - Dorothy Perkins Was £29.50 Now £7.00
Wine Midi Chiffon Dress - Topshop Was £46.00 Now £20.00
If you were lusting after a new pair of gloves or looking to add a bit of faux fur to your outfits this winter now is the time to find these timeless accessories at discounted prices. Statement designer scarves like the Biba designs are a versatile addition to any wardrobe and can be snapped up a reduced rate.

Leopard Print Snood - Warehouse Was £26.00 Now £15.00

Bags and purses are good investment pieces to find in the sales as you're sure to use them again and again. Many party clutches in the shops before Christmas can now be found at half price and will come in handy for events throughout the year.

Have you found any bargains?
You blogged you blogged you blogged *happy little dance*
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the black dress you picked and the purple, agree with what you say about sticking to flattering shapes and not just going for the lycra bright orange mini dress just because it's only £5 (it's £5 for a reason y'know?)
Gorgeous accessories too, love the Oasis clutch!

DeleteI love the Oasis clutch, can't believe it's only £5 now! x
Oooh the Warehouse skater dress is tempting, if only I hadn't banned myself from spending in January! Agreed with the careful buying, I'm a total sucker for a bargain and buy loads of tat, hence the sales spending ban!x
ReplyDeleteAhh good luck with the spending ban! I love that style of skater dress, they're so flattering and versatile! x
DeleteI love the bags you've chosen! I'm finding more bargains now that the sales have got their final reductions on - initially I was quite disappointed with the sales!

Sometimes it's best waiting until the end of the sales, there's always so much to root through in the shops at first that it puts me off! x
DeleteFab blog! Just followed you. Would be great if you follow me back. Check what is new in my boutique shop:-)

Great tips, I'm currently living in Aus, so I get quite alot of benefit from the sales, what with the seasons being opposite and the fashion being quite behind here!

DeleteI've got a few things but sales tend to really stress me out :(

I tend to avoid clothes sales until they have calmed down a bit.. I not a fan when all different styles and sizes are put together on a rail and you have to try to look through each piece! x
DeleteReally good compilation of sale items! Somehow I always seemed to miss the sales-except for the sales at Pottery Barn and Victoria's Secret bc they constantly hound you to come in a buy stuff! *sigh* oh well-maybe next year.

I usually avoid sales but you're right, if you go in and buy the classic things that won't date you can easily snap up some bargains which will last. This is a great selection, I'm an especially big fan of the skater dresses, they're SO flattering! ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to stick to these rules this year so I don't end up buying things just because I think they're a bargain ( which they don't turn out to be if I never get round to wearing them!) I love the fit of the skater style dresses and they're so versatile! :) x
DeleteI don't usually find anything in the sales but this year I did manage to find some good stuff! Love your picks, the cape from Dotty P's is gorgeous, and I would grab all of those dresses! XX
ReplyDeleteGlad you found some bargains! :) I love the little cape! x
DeleteCaroline! You're back! YAY! :) I love shopping the sales during this time of year because I find stuff I can wear all year round. I want that blue skater dress of sure. And that star wallet. So cute.
