What They Wore... SAG Awards

The 18th annual Screen Actor's Guild Awards took place in LA last night.
Many of Hollywood's A-list played it safe in the style stakes opting for glamorous black gowns for the red carpet.

Ashlee Simpson wore a black Jenny Packham dress embellished with silver beading and sheer mesh sleeves.

Emma Stone never seems to get it wrong on the red carpet recently. She opted for an Alexander McQueen ensemble, her dress had lace bust detailing and she paired it with black rose McQueen heels and a skull and horse clasp McQueen lace clutch.

One of Hollywood's hottest couples, Stacy Keibler attended with her other half George Clooney. Stacy looked stunning on the red carpet in a floor length black lace Marchesa gown.

'Bridesmaids' star Rose Byrne took a risk opting for a jumpsuit over a traditional dress for the awards but I think she pulled it off perfectly in this sparkling white Elie Saab Couture embroidered jumpsuit. Her stylish look was complete with her new sleek bobbed hair.

Michelle Williams brought some colour to the red carpet in a red Valentino gown with sheer lace sleeves teamed with scarlet Roger Vivier cage sandals.

Emily Blunt shone in a jade green asymmetrical Oscar de la Renta gown. She accessorised with a jewelled Swarovski clutch and Jimmy Choo sandals.

Natalie Portman presented an award at the ceremony and appeared in the press room in a wine coloured chiffon Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture gown fresh off the runway. She carried a sparkling Judith Leiber box clutch.

Spring In Your Step

With this recent dreary weather we all need something to brighten our spirits. What better than treating yourself to some of the cute pastel coloured clothes filling the shops in time for spring!

Pastel palettes were popular on the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk with candy colours shining through in Phillip Lim 3.1's collection. Dior used pastel tones in their floaty feminine gowns.

Pastel shades are a key trend this season. They're easier to wear than bright neon's and are simple to style as they can compliment and work with the existing colours in your wardrobe.

The candy coloured shades create a soft and feminine look perfect for summer days.

Tried and Tested... Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly

Sweetie Pie is a wobbly shower jelly designed to be used in the shower or bath. I was attracted by its bright colour and sparkling appearance and thought it'd be ideal for using in the shower when you don't have time for a Lush bath!

I was a bit concerned it might slip and wash down the plug on my first use but you can easily break off a piece to use each time. It lathers easily on a sponge and a little goes a long way. I've used my pot of shower jelly a few times and it's still about 80% full.

It has a fruity blackcurrant fragrance which awakens your senses and fills the bathroom leaving it smelling sweet. It shares the same tropical scent as The Comforter Bubble Bar

Along with the delicious combination of cherries and coconut Sweetie Pie contains carrageenan seaweed gel to leave your skin feeling silky and smooth. It is also suitable for using to wash you hair.

It can be chilled or stored in the freezer and would be ideal to use on a summers day leaving you feeling cool and refreshed.

It retails at £2.95 for 100g, or £5.95 for 240g and you can buy online at Lush

Remember to save your pot once empty and when you've collected five take them back to Lush to exchange for a free fresh face mask.

Primark S/S12

Shopping in Primark can be hit and miss but when you find that bargain you've been searching for you're happy to brave the crowds and queues all over again next time!

Their new spring collection features a palette of bright colours including corals and blues perfect for summer, Prada inspired car prints,  and blouses with a sixties feel alongside summer staple items including cute dresses and maxi skirts. It's ideal for stocking up for your summer holidays without leaving your purse too empty.

There's a range of accessories including belts and statement jewellery to add to your outfits, and bags for the beach and evenings out. I love the Mulberry inspired design of the patent turn lock bag.

Get The Look... Peplums

The peplum waist was popular on the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk with numerous designers including Marchesa and Vera Wang showcasing peplums in their collections.
It's a key trend for this season and easy to incorporate into your wardrobe with peplum ruffles appearing on dresses, jackets and tops. The flare of fabric helps define your figure, can cinch in your waist and creates a flattering silhouette. What's not to love?!

The Peplum is a celebrity style favourite with Chalize Theron attending the recent Bafta Tea Party in LA in a pretty yellow Stella McCartney creation with a peplum waist. Michelle Williams appeared on Jay Leno earlier this month in a cute peplum dress by Jason Wu from his Spring 2012 collection.

What They Wore.. Golden Globes

Last night's Golden Globes kicked off awards season in Hollywood. The red carpet was awash with bold statement colour dresses, shimmering sequins and fishtail gowns

There was lots of nude coloured dresses on the red carpet. My favourite was Charlize Theron in a stunning Dior Couture gown with a plunging neckline and dipped hem. She wore nude Givenchy heels and accessorised with Cartier jewellery and a sparkling headband.

Nicole Kidman wore a silver halter neck Versace dress and carried a gold clutch matching the gold embellishment on her gown.

Nicole Richie shimmered in a silver Julien Macdonald gown. She accessorised with her trademark boho style bangles and wore her hair styled in a high ponytail.

Lea Michele opted for a more daring Marchesa gown in comparison to her dress at last weeks People's Choice Awards. She showed off her figure in a silver embellished cut-out dress. She completed her sultry look with smoky eyes.

Fellow Glee Star Dianna Agron wore an on trend laser cut dress by Giles. Her red lips matched the gown and her hair was styled in a sleek up do to show off the pattern on the dress.

Hollywood starlet Emma Stone is a contender for my best dressed of the evening! She looked stunning in a scarlet Lanvin dress with a flowing skirt complete with thigh high split worn with an eagle leather belt.

Salma Hayek is another favourite of mine from last night. She wowed the crowds in this art deco inspired black and gold Gucci gown with an embroidered beaded skirt.

Evan Rachel Wood walked down the red carpet in a custom made midnight green halter neck gown by Gucci Premiere embellished with feathers.

All eyes were on Tilda Swinton as she arrived. Renowned for her individual style she impressed in this pastel coloured Haider Ackermann creation teamed with gold cuff bracelets.

Modern family star Sofia Vergara showed off her enviable curves in a peacock Vera Wang mermaid gown. Her long hair flowed and she kept her accessories simple with a diamond cuff. Not only was her dress a winner, Modern Family took home the award for the best comedy TV series.
