Get The Look... Piped Trench Coat

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Pippa Middleton and Kylie Minogue are amongst the celebrities who have recently been snapped wearing the Fay Metropolitan Folie trench coat. The piped detailing brings a fresh look to this classic autumn wardrobe essential.

Trench coats are perfect for this time of year with the changeable British weather. They work well with many outfits, look great over a dress with flats like Pippa and smart and chic worn with dark skinny jeans and heels like Kylie.

The Fay Metropolitan Folie retails around £800, but there are many similar piped trench coats which are much more purse friendly available on the high street.

What They Wore... Primetime Emmy Awards

Sunday night's Primetime Emmy Awards from L.A. featured laughs a plenty with many of comedy's elite in the audience. The big winner on the night was one of my favourite TV shows, 'Modern Family' which took the outstanding comedy trophy for the second year running and another 4 awards.

Red was the hot colour choice of the evening. Kate Winslet wore a fitted Elie Saab dress which created a perfect silhouette showing off her hourglass figure. She took the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a miniseries or movie for her title role in 'Mildred Pierce'

'Glee' star Lea Michele also opted for red in a bright open back Marchesa dress with rosette ruched sleeves. She looked effortlessly stylish and elegant in the classic design

'Modern Family's' Sofia Vergara looked stunning in this coral coloured asymmetrical Vera Wang gown. She accessorised with statement emerald jewelled earrings

Any red carpet is not complete without a bit of sparkle! Evan Rachel Wood's Elie Saab gown did not disappoint. The glitzy black dress looked sophisticated and chic paired with a simple metal cuff and Judith Leiber clutch

British actress Emily Blunt wore a shimmering midnight blue Elie Saab Couture dress with a deep v neckline. Her messy up do finished the look perfectly

'Mad Men' actress Christina Hendricks renowned for her great style showed off her curves in this dazzling Johanna Johnson dress. The plunging neckline and thigh high split accentuated her assets. She completed the look with Louboutins

Emmys Host Jane Lynch opened the ceremony with a musical montage and later became 'Donatella' in a hilarious 'Jersey Shore' spoof! She looked stunning on the red carpet in this rich aubergine strapless David Meister gown

'Fashion Police' host Kelly Osbourne ensured she didn't end up being talked about for the wrong reasons in this elegant deep purple J Mendel fishtail gown. She sported a stylish up do which showed off her sparkling earrings

Sheer Beauty

   Photobucket Photobucket
Source                            Source

Sheer fabrics are everywhere this season. Sheer shirts can be styled in many different ways and work well in a variety of outfits.

Fearne Cotton looks effortlessly stylish teaming her black shirt with skinnies, whilst Olivia Palermo creates a ladylike elegant look in this nude off the shoulder blouse.

They're great for layering, add a vest top underneath and a blazer on top for a stylish work wear look. The floaty material adds a graceful and feminine touch to an outfit.

These are some that have caught my eye on the high street

Photobucket
Rose Sleeveless Shirt - House of Fraser - £20

Photobucket
Peter Pan Collar Blouse - Oasis - £40

Photobucket
Sleeveless Pussy Bow Blouse - Oasis - £40

Photobucket
Black Pussy Bow Blouse - River Island - £32

Photobucket
Sequin Collar Shirt - Topshop US ( part of 'Edited' available at 286 Regent Street Edited space at their London flagship store) - $75

I especially love the sequin collar on the Topshop sleeveless shirt and the rich emerald colour and cute bows on the peter pan blouse from Oasis

"For you I sigh, for you dear only..."

Photobucket

I've always been a big Amy Winehouse fan and was shocked and saddened to hear of her untimely death.

Today her final recording, 'Body And Soul' a duet with legendary crooner Tony Bennett is released to coincide with her 28th birthday and the launch of the charity set up by her family and friends in her memory,  The Amy Winehouse Foundation "to support charitable activities in both the UK and abroad that provide help, support or care for young people, especially those who are in need by reason of ill health, disability, financial disadvantage or addiction."

It is a truly beautiful song which shows off Amy's amazing voice and talent. When interviewed whilst recording the track back in March at London's Abbey Road studios Amy spoke of how it was one of her dad, Mitch's favourite songs.

She appears relaxed and happy as she sings, looking over and smiling at Tony. She is wearing one of her trademark Fred Perry jumpers. Her recently released AW11 Amy Winehouse Collection for Fred Perry is donating the fees and royalties from sales to The Amy Winehouse Foundation.

'Body and Soul' is available to download now and all proceeds will go to the foundation.

The track is taken from Tony Bennett's 'Duets II' album released next week, also featuring collaborations with Lady Gaga and John Mayer.
